We answer your questions
We are Huella por Huella, a civil association made up of volunteers. We rescue little dogs living on the street, heal them and look for the right family for them.
Where are you located?+
We are in Mexico City. Our little dogs live in foster homes while they find their family, so we don’t have a shelter open to the public: meetings and handovers are coordinated within the adoption process. We have placed dogs for adoption in Mexico and we have also sent little dogs to families in the United States, Canada and the Czech Republic.
How does the adoption process work?+
You fill out the adoption application and, if you are approved, our team contacts you for a video-call interview. Then you meet the little dog and, if there’s a match, we sign the contract and hand them over to you with their complete health protocol, according to their age and the time they have been with Huella. The recovery fee is $1,750 and it helps us cover part of their rescue and their protocol; in addition, we ask you for a bag of kibble, a collar and a leash.

I found a dog/cat, where do I take them to you?+
We don’t have a shelter and we don’t receive little dogs directly: every rescue lives in a foster home and our spaces are very few. But we can help you: we prepared a video, the Rescuer Tutorial, where we tell you step by step what we do when we rescue, so you can help them yourself from where you are. Do you accept donations?+
Yes. We are a civil association (A.C.) and every peso goes to rescues, sterilizations, vaccines and treatments. You can sponsor a little dog from $100 a month at Changing Lives, buy in our Shop with a Cause, or donate from the Donations link in our Instagram bio.

Huella por Huella is for everyone who dreams of “having a huge garden to be able to save them all”. You don’t need the garden: we can all help the furry ones by donating what we know how to do. Our volunteer team is made up of people from different professions who want to make a change in the measure of their time, and we also have social service at ITAM and Anáhuac.
