About Us

Who we are

We are a group of Mexican rescuers and volunteers. In 2021 we joined years of experience in independent rescue to create Huella por Huella, with a single purpose: that every rescued dog and cat finds the family of their life.

What we do

We work with shelters, refuges and independent rescuers. We coordinate rescues, spread the word about dogs and cats, review every application and care for the compatibility between each animal and their family, to achieve the ideal match.

Our programs

Social service with Anáhuac and ITAM. In-person and digital volunteering. Adopt your rescued one. Foster homes. Pet-friendly adoption, awareness and training events. Strategic alliances with training schools.

Why we do it

We do it for two reasons. We love animals and we recognize everything dogs and cats bring to our lives. And we know the problem of abandonment in Mexico up close: we want to help put an end to it.

Our three pillars

Adoptions that last. Education and a careful adoption process, so that every match lasts a lifetime.

That everyone makes it back home. We work so that no lost dog or cat is left without returning to their family.

Fewer births on the street. We fight the reproduction of dogs and cats living on the street.

Where we work

We operate from Mexico City.

We also have alliances to send adopted dogs and cats to other states and even to other countries, such as the United States, Canada and the Czech Republic.

We are in the process of incorporating as a nonprofit association in the United States.

Our values

Helping is what we do. We are a foundation that seeks to help.

Every dog is a treasure. Our dogs wait calmly, until they reach an incredible home.

The true match. We look for people who are exactly what each dog needs.

Dignity in every story. We tell true stories with dignity and hope.

Vulnerability. We speak with an open heart: vulnerability connects us.
